Karen Trudel

Broker Whatcom County Specialist

Strong, driven businesswoman, Karen Trudel is passionate about helping her clients. She is known as “The best real estate broker in town” because she is able to produce results.

Her career started in banking where she worked as a teller then worked her way up to the Assistant to the Operations Officer. She gained experience in building relationships with clients, managing employees and working with clients on the nuances of business banking.

Trudel then transitioned to working for her father-in-law in his tax business in 1998. Shortly after, she received her Tax Preparer Certification from H&R Block. By 2010, she had transitioned to running her own business Trudel Tax which she still owns today. Over the years she has worked with realtors, publishers, investors, small businesses, construction companies, nonprofits, on the buying and selling of businesses, and 1031 exchange. She is able to work in all 50 states, including on accounts over $1M.

Around 2016, Trudel wanted to branch out and be able to do more. She chose to get her real estate license because it was a natural extension of services she could offer to her clients. Her first transaction was her house here in Blaine, WA. “I tried to fire myself a few times during this process,” she jokes. Her second client was referred to her as a ‘difficult client’ from other agents. The client had worked with many agents, and her house sat on the market for months. Trudel laid out what was needed, got the work done and then sold the house in two days. She’s on top of it.

Trudel has also coordinated cross-coastal sale and purchase of properties. She even has clients that she has never met—they simply call and fax her the information and she finds what they need. Banks and businesses in town regularly refer her. They describe her as “the most friendly, positive, and hard-working person they know.”

She lives with her partner and two of her four kids in Blaine, WA. She prides herself on raising her girls to be strong women. She’s an animal lover and is constantly busy getting to know everyone in town. In her free time, she enjoys getting away and taking a walk to enjoy nature. Or, a glass of wine.
